SELECTED EXPERIENCE

Stories that earned attention.

Selected work from Alex Koritz’s communications career, including campaigns through KORITZ Communications and prior agency and in-house roles.

Echo Water: Building credibility in hydrogen water

Echo Water needed to stand out in a growing category where competition and consumer skepticism made credibility essential. The campaign combined product testing and reviews, influencer partnerships, leadership podcast interviews, and industry award outreach. Third-party coverage introduced the brand to consumer and wellness audiences and helped explain its hydrogen water technology.

Nano-Yield: Making agricultural nanotechnology understandable

Nano-Yield needed to translate complex science into stories that mattered to growers, agronomists, and the agricultural industry. The communications program combined agriculture, technology, and business media outreach with executive thought leadership and targeted podcast placements. Coverage and interviews built awareness of the company’s approach to nutrient efficiency and its role in agricultural innovation.

BodyGuardz: Standing out in a crowded accessories market

BodyGuardz was an early entrant in phone protection, but an overcrowded market had made differentiation harder. The team targeted product reviewers and industry influencers and coordinated outreach around major Apple and Samsung launches. The campaign secured more than 300 media placements in its first year, with reported potential impressions exceeding 2.2 billion. The Samsung Galaxy launch campaign increased overall reach by 1,800% over the previous year.

Databricks: Expanding visibility in big data and cloud computing

The campaign built visibility for Databricks and its Summit through executive and investor interviews and media attendance. Results included more than 100 unique articles and 266 million reported potential impressions. Summit attendance doubled, with record media attendance that included The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Wired. The work also maintained the company’s connection with the open source community.

Jetpac: Turning travel data into international news

Jetpac needed to introduce its new travel guide iPhone app to an international audience. The campaign used Instagram image data to develop stories about the world’s happiest cities and countries. Coverage included The New York Times, USA Today, Der Spiegel, The Guardian, Bloomberg Asia, and other international outlets. Broadcast appearances included Today, CNBC, and Bloomberg TV.

Domo: Building authority before launch

Domo needed to build thought leadership in targeted markets while keeping its product in stealth mode. The team combined media outreach, contributed articles, speaking and award opportunities, and customer stories. The program positioned Domo and its executives as voices in retail, marketing, and insurance.

Defending Digital Campaigns: Bringing election cybersecurity into the public conversation

Defending Digital Campaigns needed to raise awareness of the cybersecurity resources it provides to political campaigns. KORITZ Communications created media events with the organization and partners such as Google in states holding critical elections. Events reached markets including Washington, D.C., Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, and Ohio.

María Fernanda Espinosa: Building a U.S. media platform for a U.N. leader

María Fernanda Espinosa needed greater U.S. awareness of her work as president of the United Nations General Assembly. KORITZ Communications developed a thought leadership and media program around sustainability and women’s empowerment. Coverage included Scientific American, Forbes, Business Insider, and Reuters, along with visibility through Bloomberg TV and Harper’s Bazaar.

Utah Mushroom Therapy: Bringing a policy proposal to statewide attention

Utah Mushroom Therapy needed to explain its medical psilocybin proposal and draw attention to a petition presented to the Utah Legislature in 2023. KORITZ Communications shaped the message and coordinated press outreach around a legislative event. The campaign earned local print and broadcast coverage and helped keep the proposal in the public conversation.

IPOs and strategic acquisitions

Major transactions require clear positioning, disciplined executive messaging, and an explanation of the business that financial and technology audiences can understand. These examples reflect communications experience supporting those moments.

Nutanix IPO (2016)

Nutanix needed to distinguish itself from legacy hardware companies amid skepticism toward enterprise technology IPOs. The team centered the narrative on an enterprise cloud platform, executive leadership, and IT modernization. Media visibility included Forbes, CNBC, and Investor’s Business Daily around the public debut.

Vivint acquisition by Blackstone (2012)

Vivint needed to communicate its growth potential beyond traditional home security. The team focused on smart home technology, recurring revenue, and leadership in an emerging market. Coverage included Fortune, TechCrunch, and Dow Jones as part of that positioning work.

Qualtrics acquisition by SAP (2018)

Qualtrics needed to explain experience management as an enterprise category and communicate the strategic rationale for its acquisition by SAP. The team developed category stories, coordinated executive messaging, and pursued major business and technology media. Coverage included CNBC, CRN, CIO Dive, and the Associated Press.

Shape Security acquisition by F5 (2020)

Shape Security needed to explain its technology and its role in F5’s security expansion. The communications work aligned executive messages, clarified technical benefits, and supported targeted media briefings. Coverage included Forbes, SecurityWeek, and Investor’s Business Daily.

Domo IPO (2018)

Domo faced questions about financial performance and its position in cloud business intelligence. The team combined customer stories, executive positioning, and proactive media engagement to explain adoption and the company’s vision. Coverage included The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and TechCrunch.

Book launches and author thought leadership

A book gives an author a reason to enter the conversation. A strong campaign gives journalists and hosts a reason to listen. KORITZ Communications develops outreach around each author’s strongest themes, timely ideas, and expertise. Programs combine interviews, podcasts, contributed articles, and commentary to build an author’s profile beyond launch day.

Author experience includes Blake Erickson and Dr. Benjamin Hardy (The Science of Scaling), Dr. Judith Orloff (The Empath’s Survival Guide), Emma Lou Thayne (The Place of Knowing), Jennifer Adams (BabyLit), Jed Morley (Building a Brand That Scales), and Clark Bell (Purpose Driven Leadership).
